Shares of Stryker retreated after the medical technology company was hit by a cyberattack.

The stock was down 3.4% to $346.46 in Wednesday afternoon trading. The shares have retreated 4.8% in the past year.

Stryker said that the early morning attack produced a global network disruption to its Microsoft environment, affecting both client devices and servers.

Staff and contractors told The Wall Street Journal that the logo of Iran-linked hacking group Handala appeared on login pages.

The Kalamazoo, Mich.-based firm said that the incident has been contained and there is no indication of malware or ransomware associated with the attack.
