Finerenone, a drug developed by pharmaceutical giant Bayer to treat kidney disease, has yielded positive results in a clinical study, according to the company. Bayer announced on Friday that Finerenone significantly slows the loss of kidney function in patients with non-diabetic chronic kidney disease. Furthermore, the drug reduces the risk of cardiovascular and renal complications by 23 percent compared to a placebo. These findings stem from a large-scale Phase III study titled FIND-CKD. Finerenone is a non-steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist (nsMRA).
