Engineering consultancy Sweco has been commissioned by the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) to provide planning and design services for the new railway section between Mölndal and Gothenburg Landvetter Airport. The contract spans from 2026 to 2030, with an estimated order value for Sweco of SEK 440 million.
The mandate includes environmental impact assessments, technical design documentation for water-related operations, and permit applications. This rail link is part of the planned high-speed line between Gothenburg and Borås, designed for passenger trains reaching speeds of up to 250 kilometers per hour.
