(Alliance News) : Telecom Italia Spa announced on Thursday that it has received a refund for the 1998 license fee totaling just over 1bn. This follows a ruling by the Court of Cassation last December, which definitively confirmed the restitution of the funds, bringing an end to a legal dispute lasting more than twenty years.
The amount received includes the original fee of over 500m, plus monetary revaluation and interest accrued over time.
The company specified that the related extraordinary income had already been fully accounted for in the 2025 results, as communicated during the publication of the preliminary data as of December 31 of last year.
The collection instead generates a net positive impact on the financial position of the current fiscal year for a value slightly below 1bn, an effect already incorporated into the 2026 financial guidance.
TIM shares are trading in fractional positive territory at 0.7674 per share.
