Sparkle, the international infrastructure and connectivity services arm of the Tim Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jordanian telecom operator NaiTel and consultancy firm iLevant to develop a new digital connectivity corridor between Europe and Asia.

The agreement involves integrating the GreenMed subsea cable with terrestrial fiber networks and regional interconnection platforms in Jordan, according to a company statement.

The objective is to bolster 'connectivity resilience in the Mediterranean' by supporting the development of diversified digital infrastructure between Europe and Asia.

Jordan, which already serves as a landing point for several other subsea cable systems, aims to consolidate its role as a strategic hub within the India-Middle East-Europe (IMEC) corridor, the statement added.
