TOSCANA AEROPORTI OPENS 2026 WITH A NEW RECORD: BEST JANUARY EVER WITH OVER 500,000 PASSENGERS (+4.0%)
Florence, February 6, 2026 -Toscana Aeroporti inaugurates 2026 with a new monthly record, exceeding the threshold of 500,000 passengers for the first time in January. A total of 505,000 passengers passed through Florence and Pisa airports, representing a 4.0% increase on 2025. In January, the positive trend in international traffic (+7.1%) more than offset the decline in domestic traffic (-5.1%).
Performance of individual airports:
Florence's Amerigo Vespucci airport recorded its best January ever with 215,000 passengers passing through, an improvement of +6.6% on the previous year. The international traffic segment was particularly dynamic, increasing by +9.3% and offsetting the -7.3% decline in domestic traffic. The busiest routes for the month were Paris in first place, followed by London, Barcelona, Rome and Madrid.
Pisa's Galileo Galilei airport closed January with 291,000 passengers and growth of +2.1% on 2025. Here too, the positive performance of the international market segment (+5.3%) more than offset the contraction in the domestic segment (-4.3%). In the ranking of the busiest routes, Tirana was in first place, followed by London, Palermo, Catania and Bari.
