The U.S. recreational vehicle (RV) market, encompassing both motorhomes and travel trailers, recorded a 4.4 percent increase in wholesale deliveries to dealerships in September, reaching 25,684 units compared to the same month last year.
This data was released Sunday by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA).
So far this year, deliveries are up 4.2 percent, totaling 267,234 vehicles.
For the full year 2024, deliveries increased by 6.6 percent to 333,733 units.
“The RV industry continues to demonstrate steady, moderate growth in wholesale shipments, which is a testament to the enduring appeal of the RV lifestyle,” said Craig Kirby, President and CEO of RVIA.
He added,
“This sustained demand, well into the fall season, highlights a significant shift: the RV lifestyle is no longer limited to summer travel. Our data consistently show that RV owners value the affordability and flexibility of being able to use their vehicles year-round, enjoying off-season camping and the freedom to pursue their passions outside of traditional vacation periods.”
The forecast for this year is between 320,400 and 353,500 units, while next year's deliveries are expected to range from 332,400 to 366,100 vehicles.
Dometic, a manufacturer of refrigerators for motorhomes, travel trailers, and other vehicles, counts the Americas region--where the United States is the largest market--as its primary market.
