Xcel Energy had received a letter from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Office of Energy Projects Division of Dam Safety and Inspections Chicago Regional Office. Xcel Energy's January 9, 2026 letter provided a plan to evaluate the source of seepage at the toe of the right embankment at the Trego Hydroelectric Project, FERC No. 2711.
The plan to map and document the area of seepage, install a weir (if feasible) for measuring flow, and collect water samples satisfies the recommendation in the 10th Consultant?s Safety Inspection Report to investigate the source and nature of this seepage. An update will be provided by October 31, 2026 on the path forward after performing the above steps. Xcel Energy was instructed to file the submittal using the Commission?s eFiling system.
