Zoox will launch its robotaxi service in Phoenix and begin testing its autonomous cars in Dallas, expanding its footprint to ten markets across the county.

The company, which is owned by Amazon, on Monday said it will support its expanded operations by opening new depots in Phoenix and Dallas, as well as a new command-center facility in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The expansion will allow Zoox to test its technology in sprawling environments rather than dense metro areas. Additionally, operations in Phoenix will test the technology's resilience to extreme heat and dust on high-speed roads, while Dallas offers diverse weather and complex road networks, the company said.

Zoox has previously rolled out its robotaxi service or began testing in the San Francisco Bay Area; Las Vegas; Seattle; Austin, Texas; Miami; Los Angeles; Atlanta and Washington D.C.

"Expanding our testing fleet to Dallas and Phoenix reflects the strong momentum behind our business as we continue growing city by city," Zoox said.
