SAO PAULO--Brazil recorded a current-account deficit of $4.6 billion in October, from a deficit of $5.7 billion in September, the country's central bank said Friday.

The 12-month current-account deficit reached $60.3 billion in October, from a revised $61.7 billion the month before, the bank said.

The 12-month current-account deficit was equal to 3.31% of gross domestic product, versus 3.43% of GDP for the previous month.

Net foreign direct investment reached $5.5 billion in October, down from $9.2 billion reported in September, the bank said. FDI reached $73.8 billion for the 12 months through October, compared with $73.8 billion in the 12 months through September.
