Clad in t-shirts and singlets, groups of men were seen throwing buckets of water and discharging fire extinguishers as sizable flames raged around them.

The health ministry added the tent camp was located around Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir Al-Balah, where hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are sheltering.

At least 39,550 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli military campaign in Gaza, according to Gaza health officials. The offensive was triggered by a Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on October 7 in which 1,200 people were killed and 250 abducted, according to Israeli tallies.
