Inspections of U.S. corn for export rose last week, while wheat and soybean inspections fell, according to data released Monday by the Department of Agriculture.

Corn inspected in the week ended Aug. 1 totaled 1.21 million metric tons, up from 1.07 million tons the week before, the USDA said in its weekly report. Wheat inspections slipped to 440,888 tons from 453,904 tons, and soybean inspections fell to 261,203 tons from 408,582 tons.

In the 2024/25 marketing year-to-date, corn inspections are up 36% from the previous year at 47.89 million tons. Wheat inspections are up 16% at 3.54 million tons, and soybeans are down 15% at 43.03 million tons.

In the week ended Aug. 1, Japan was the biggest corn destination, Mexico was the biggest buyer of wheat and Indonesia was the chief destination for soybeans.
