FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - The German stock market continued its recent recovery at the beginning of the week. The leading index, the Dax, has recorded its fifth consecutive day of gains. In the first few minutes of trading on Monday, the Dax rose by 0.4 percent to 17,790 points. The Borsen barometer has thus recovered a good part of the three-day slump at the beginning of the month.

The MDax of medium-sized companies rose by 0.4 percent to 24,340 points at the start of the week. The EuroStoxx 50, the leading eurozone index, also rose by 0.4 percent./bek/men
