FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - The Dax is initially expected to do little on Wednesday. The broker IG estimated that the leading German index would remain stable in percentage terms at around 20,271 points for about two and a half hours. On Tuesday, the Dax had recovered from its setback from its annual high of 20,480 points. However, it was unable to hold on to the 20,362 points it had already reached again.

Impulses from Wall Street are mixed. The Dow Jones Industrial managed to approach its 100-day moving average again with a half-percent gain. By contrast, the Nasdaq 100 ultimately gave up interim recovery gains and ended slightly down. Interest and tariff concerns remain persistent.
