Indices on the Milan Stock Exchange started flat to slightly higher in what appears to be a consolidation session, following four consecutive days of gains for the bourse.

Corporate earnings continue to influence trading today, while the macroeconomic calendar remains light with few data releases expected this week.

Around 9:30 a.m., the FTSE Mib index was up 0.10%.

Regarding tariff tensions, ECB policymaker Klaas Knot stated that the U.S. administration's trade policies are creating uncertainty in the global economy, which could dampen both growth and inflation in the short term.

Industrie De Nora soared by 5.6% after posting improved quarterly results and confirming its full-year guidance.

INWIT, on the other hand, slipped 0.6% following quarterly results that were in line with market consensus.

In the banking sector, heavyweights UniCredit and Intesa Sanpaolo each rose by 0.4%. Monte dei Paschi di Siena (MPS) also gained 0.45%, after hitting new highs since August 2022 at €8.42. Mediobanca retreated by 1% as investors took profits following the stock's recent strong performance.

Telecom Italia (TIM) climbed 1.5%, while Leonardo advanced 1.2%.

Juventus rose 2% after announcing that Jeep will pay €69 million to become the club's shirt sponsor through June 2028.

Stellantis saw declines, falling 1.2%.
