Around 3:40 p.m., the Ftse Mib advanced 1.20 percent to session highs, surpassing 35,550 points, levels the index has not seen in 17 years.
The U.S. stock market also runs, with the Dow Jones index jumping 1.4 percent.
Leading the way are banks, with the sector index up 1.13 percent. Unicredit is tonic, rising 1.1 percent, and Banco Bpm - under Ops by the Piazza Gae Aulenti bank - also runs, touching new highs since January 2016 at 8.234 euros.
Industrials also do well: Iveco scores +6.67% on Kepler Cheuvreux upgrade, Prysmian gains 3.16%. Cement manufacturers also do well, such as Buzzi at +2.2% and Cementir at +4.7%.
At pole Saipem, which flexes 5% penalized by rumors of increased costs for French wind project due to drilling difficulties.
