The 2024 stock market year is coming to an end and tomorrow marks the start of the so-called Santa Claus Rally - which applies to the last five trading days of the year plus the first two trading days of the new year.

The Santa Claus Rally - or "The Santa Claus Rally" as it is also known - produced a return of -1.2% for the OMXS30 index last year, compared to 2.3% the year before and 5.2% the year before that. The average for the last ten years is an increase of 0.4%.

Wall Street starts the holiday season on Monday, December 23rd, as Wall Street is open on Boxing Day and New Year's Eve.
