The Stockholm stock exchange turned downwards on Monday after three consecutive days of gains. Stockholm followed the global stock markets, with declines seen in both Frankfurt and New York. Engineering giant Sandvik fell on a weaker than expected interim report.

At the close, the OMXS30 index was down 0.70 percent to 2,576.20. Shares worth around SEK 16.6 billion changed hands on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

The best performance among the stock exchange's major industrial sectors was energy with a rise of 0.9 percent. At the other end of the scale, real estate was at the bottom with minus 2.3 percent.

Among the leading shares, which are included in the OMXS30 index, Nibe rose 1.4 percent while Boliden was up 1.0 percent. Electrolux was the worst performer, down 2.7%, while Getinge was down 2.6%.

At the top of Monday's report agenda was Sandvik, whose figures did not meet market expectations. Adjusted ebita earnings amounted to SEK 5,866 million in the third quarter, compared to the expected SEK 6,173 million. Order intake and sales were also lower than expected. The share fell 2.1 percent.

Aerospace company CTT Systems flags lower sales and earnings in the third quarter and lowers its sales forecast for the second half of the year. Operating profit in the third quarter fell to SEK 15 million from SEK 30.5 million. The share fell 9.3 percent.

Real estate company Stendörren reports rising rental income, net operating income and income from property management in the third quarter compared to the same quarter last year. Net asset value per share also improved. The share fell 0.7 percent.

Irish Kingspan has increased its ownership in waterproofing company Nordic Waterproofing to 62.6 percent. Kingspan has bought a 26.5 percent stake in Nordic Waterproofing. The increased ownership does not trigger any obligation for Kingspan to make a mandatory offer for the remaining outstanding shares in Nordic Waterproofing. A previous mandatory offer expired on March 27 this year. The share fell 1.3 percent.

On the analysis front, Handelsbanken raised its recommendation on Arjo to Buy from Hold in the short term. The share rose 4.5 percent.

Handelsbanken raised NP3 to keep from sell in the short term. Pareto Securities raised NP3 to buy from hold. Kepler Cheuvreux also raised its recommendation to buy. The share rose 0.2 percent.

Stifel raised Volvo to buy from hold. The share fell 0.8 percent.

JP Morgan lowered Investor to neutral from overweight. SEB lowered its recommendation on Investor to hold from buy. The share went down 0.5 percent.

Nordea lowered Getinge to sell from hold. The share fell 2.6 percent.

Carnegie raised Nibe to buy from hold. The share rose 1.4 percent.

Arctic initiated coverage of Logistea with buy. The B-share fell 4.2 percent.

Kepler Cheuvreux raised Avanza to keep from reduce. The share fell 1.4 percent.

ABG lowered Peab to keep from buy. The share fell 2.7 percent.

Dagens industri gave a buy recommendation for the e-commerce company BHG. The share rose 5.4 percent.
