Nvidia's sales tripled compared with a year earlier, beating already-high expectations by investors. The chipmaker's Chief Executive Jensen Huang said artificial intelligence was hitting "the tipping point," with surging demand across the board. Shares rose 7.5%, to $725.01, after-hours.

Royal Caribbean raised its outlook for the year due to higher-than-expected bookings in the off-season period. The cruise operator said it was optimistic on demand and pricing in 2024. Shares rose 6.2%, to $122, after-hours.

Rivian forecast flat vehicle production in 2024 compared with a year ago, which it attributed to challenging macroeconomic conditions. The company specifically referenced the challenges of "historically high interest rates" and said it would cut its salaried workforce by about 10%. Shares fell 16%, to $12.93, in after-hours trading.

Enerplus and Chord Energy said they planned to merge, creating an $11 billion oil and gas company. The companies said that Enerplus shareholders would receive approximately one-tenth of a share of Chord and $1.84 in cash, which they said gave Enerplus an implied value of $18.42 per share. Enerplus shares rose 9.4%, to $17.97, after-hours, while Chord shares edged up 2.1%.

BuzzFeed will sell its Complex business to NTWRK for $108.6 million in cash and slash about 16% of remaining staff. The company said the divestiture and restructuring would allow it to focus on improving profitability. Shares nearly doubled, to 43 cents, in after-hours trading.
