MONTREAL (AP) _ 5N Plus Inc. (FPLSF) on Tuesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $2.9 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Montreal-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for asset impairment costs, came to 1 cent per share.

The specialty metal and chemical products maker posted revenue of $46.2 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $2.2 million, or 3 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $177.2 million.

The company's shares closed at $3.40. A year ago, they were trading at $1.59.
