The Montreal-based company said it had profit of 3 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 2 cents per share.

The specialty metal and chemical products maker posted revenue of $47.7 million in the period.

In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, the company's shares hit $2.16. A year ago, they were trading at $1.36.
