CAMPBELL, Calif. (AP) _ 8x8 Inc. (EGHT) on Thursday reported a loss of $11.6 million in its fiscal second quarter.

The Campbell, California-based company said it had a loss of 10 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 5 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 3 cents per share.

The telecommunications services company posted revenue of $187.4 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $186.4 million.

For the current quarter ending in December, 8x8 said it expects revenue in the range of $185 million to $188 million.

The company expects full-year revenue in the range of $745 million to $755 million.
