ZURICH (AP) _ ABB Ltd. (ABB) on Thursday reported third-quarter earnings of $360 million.

On a per-share basis, the Zurich-based company said it had profit of 19 cents. Earnings, adjusted to account for discontinued operations, came to 20 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 28 cents per share.

The industrial automation company posted revenue of $7.41 billion in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $7.5 billion.

ABB shares have fallen 30% since the beginning of the year.
