ABB announces that it has extended its collaboration with bp by signing a five-year global framework agreement to supply automation, electrical and telecommunications equipment for bp's upstream and downstream facilities.

The agreement aims to simplify system integration, reducing project risks, costs and lead times.

As part of the agreement, ABB will provide an Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS) with the ABB Ability 800xA distributed control system in bp's facilities. This will facilitate the adoption of new technologies while improving existing operations.

ABB will also provide electrical distribution systems (EDS) and digital telecommunications systems to enhance bp's digital infrastructure and reduce total cost of ownership.
