The Plenary of the Seville City Council shows its support and backing for Abengoa

April 27, 2020 - The Seville City Council, in its plenary session on March 18, has approved a series of agreements whose objective is to show its support for Abengoa, a company 'that it has managed to be a benchmark in the so-called green economy and has contributed to the business projection and internationalization of our city ', as the writing states.

This proposal, promoted by the councilors of the socialist municipal group of the Seville City Council, is made up of a total of five agreements that contemplate from the recognition of Abengoa 'as a protagonist of the socioeconomic fabric of our city'; the encourage for the creation of new legal instruments 'that back the Andalusian industrial fabric in cases such as Abengoa'; to the support of the council 'in these difficult circumstances for Abengoa's workforce, especially Andalusian and Sevillian workers,' among others.

The fact is that, for the Seville City Council, Abengoa is key to the city both in terms of 'attraction and retention of Sevillian talent' and 'in the internationalization of Andalusia and Seville'. 'We cannot understand the recent history of our city and its business fabric without the contribution of this multinational company' - they point out. 'Abengoa is and should be a source of pride for our city. A flag of the Seville of the 21st century in which we feel reflected as a society'.
