NEW ALBANY, Ohio (AP) _ Abercrombie & Fitch Co. (ANF) on Wednesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of $65.5 million.

The New Albany, Ohio-based company said it had profit of $1.12 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $1.14 per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.28 per share.

The teen clothing retailer posted revenue of $1.16 billion in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.18 billion.

For the year, the company reported net income of $263 million, or $4.20 per share, swinging to a profit in the period. Revenue was reported as $3.71 billion.

For the current quarter ending in May, Abercrombie said it expects revenue in the range of $781 million. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $811.4 million.

Abercrombie shares have risen almost 3% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 30% in the last 12 months.
