ABN AMRO BANK N.V. Today, Milieudefensie (Friends of the Earth Netherlands) published its Climate Crisis Index. This index incorporates the results of a survey of the climate plans of 29 large Dutch companies requested by Milieudefensie in April 2022. ABN AMRO is one of the companies included in the index.
Just like Milieudefensie, ABN AMRO considers it necessary to work towards the agreements laid down in the Paris Climate Agreement and the Dutch financial industry's climate commitment, by means of a measurable climate strategy. Based on the time lines in the climate commitment, we are currently developing a new climate strategy, which we will present by the end of 2022.
Our new climate strategy is the next step in the bank's efforts - in conjunction with our clients - to combat climate change and accelerate the energy transition. We strive to align our new climate strategy with many of the objectives of our stakeholders, including Milieudefensie.
