HOLLYWOOD, CA, September 15, 2022 - MYX, the fastest growing global media, entertainment and lifestyle platform celebrating the next generation of Filipino music artists, creatives, and filmmakers, recently made key appointments to drive market expansion and growth.
Marlino Bitanga is now Head of MYX Platform Operations while Nino Llanera is the new Head of Content & Programming.
"Our goal is for MYX to deliver world-class entertainment content to relevant audiences wherever and whenever they choose," said ABS-CBN International (North and Latin America) Managing Director Jun Del Rosario. "Marlino will oversee a platform strategy roadmap that expands MYX's distribution to third-party platforms that provide the best reach and viewing experience. Nino will define and implement a content strategy roadmap that produces content with quality storytelling, deep emotional connections, and local relevance to delight audiences around the globe."
Prior to joining MYX, Bitanga -- also known as DJ Marlino and "Fivefoota Funk" -- founded and hosted Heavy Rotation, the first and only global podcast and music TV show for Filipino Hip Hop and R&B. He is a veteran DJ with over 30 years' experience of doing clubs and private parties, two DJ mixing titles, and over 11 years of radio experience on stations like Wild 107/94.9FM in the San Francisco Bay Area, Z90.3 FM San Diego, Wild 106.1FM in San Luis Obispo, along with various guest DJ appearances around the world.
Throughout his career in the music industry, Bitanga has interviewed major artists like Snoop Dog, Alicia Keys, Common, Queen Latifah and more. He now devotes his career to cultivating and putting the spotlight on Filipino artists worldwide. Bitanga is also an entrepreneur, brand strategist and consultant, and keynote speaker.
Born in Iloilo City, Philippines, and raised in Los Angeles, California, Llanera is a TV host, entertainment journalist, producer, and actor. He is an alumnus of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University. He is best known for his work with ABS-CBN International's MYX News (Formerly TAYO News), MYX Global, and Afterbuzz TV, founded by Emmy Award Winner Maria Menounos (E! Entertainment) and Producer Keven Undergo (The Tomorrow Show).
Llanera hosted and Produced Afterbuzz TV after-shows for networks such as MTV, CW, FOX, and Netflix. Prior to his most recent appointment, he was the Lead Content Producer for MYX Global helping spearhead content curation and development.
Bitanga and Llanera will report directly to ABS-CBN International Managing Director Jun Del Rosario and will work closely with ABS-CBN Global COO Aldrin M. Cerrado.
