ADIB, CBD and DIB Complete Financing Deal for the 50th Airbus A380 for Emirates Airline

  • USD 425 million Shari'a-compliant financing
  • Financing arranged for two Airbus A380s

Abu Dhabi, XX August 2014: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) and Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) have jointly finalised a USD 425 million Shari'a-compliant financing with Emirates airline for the acquisition of two Airbus A380s.

The three banks were Joint Bookrunners and Initial Mandated Lead Arrangers for the transaction.

The first A380 under the facility has already been delivered in Hamburg, and is the 50th delivery of an A380 aircraft to Emirates airline.

Emirates airline's all wide-body fleet stands at 225 aircraft, representing the world's largest fleet of A380s, and also the world's largest fleet of Boeing 777s.

Emirates airline has the biggest A380 route network of any commercial airline, currently serving 29 destinations. Its Dubai-Los Angeles route is the world's longest A380 flight in operation.
