Abu Dhabi, 1 February 2017: Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a leading financial institution, has launched its Snapchat channel to connect with its customers, and the wider community.

ADIB's Snapchat channel will not only provide ADIB's customers with an online platform to engage with the bank, but will also share relevant information on the bank's events and initiatives, news, updates and promotions as well as to promote financial education.

Snapchat is a social media platform that allows users to share photo messages, called 'snaps' with their list of followers. Messages can range from 1-10 seconds and disappear after they're watched. Globally the platform has around 301 million active monthly users. ADIB's Snapchat account can be accessed by following 'ADIBstories'

'ADIB is at the forefront of utilizing social and digital channels to connect with its customers and develop stronger relationships with them by listening to their needs and engaging with them.' said Petr Klimes, ADIB's Global Head of Marketing. 'Delivering superior customer experience is central to our business strategy, and regular engagement through platforms such as Snapchat enables ADIB to provide its customers, in particular millennials, who are heavy users of Snapchat, with meaningful dialogue thereby complementing our existing social media presence.'

The channel will be launched at the Tawdheef career fair in Abu Dhabi and will engage with young Emiratis to highlight the exciting career opportunities available to them at the Abu Dhabi-based bank.

Social media has become an increasingly crucial mechanism for businesses to connect with their customers. Creating a Snapchat profile not only meets ADIB 's customer preferences for a digitally savvy and flexible bank, but acts as another step in the fulfilment of ADIB's digital strategy, which recently saw the launch of revamped online banking, as well as an intuitive and secure mobile app that lets customers seamlessly conduct their banking transactions seamlessly on their mobile devices.

ADIB was one of the first Islamic banks in the region to adopt social media channels as another tool to engage and communicate with its customers and is currently present on Linkedin, twitter, Facebook and Instagram in addition to Snapchat.

The ADIB Snapchat also supports ADIB's digital engagement with its customers, while upholding its commitment to transparency and excellent customer service. ADIB has won numerous awards for customer service including, most recently, the Ethos best overall bank for customer experience in the UAE for the sixth year in a row, and best overall call centre in the UAE.

In 2016, the bank doubled its users on Twitter, LinkedIn, and Youtube, and tripled users on Instagram.
