ACCIONA tops sustainalytics' ESG RISK RATING 08/05/2020
  • The company ranks first in the ESG index's 'multi-utilities' sector
  • ACCIONA also features on the FTSE4GOOD sustainability ranking

ACCIONA is the world's most sustainable company in the 'multi-utilities' sector - which includes the provision, generation and treatment of basic services such as electricity and water - according to the Sustainalytics ESG Risk Rating Index.

Sustainalytics is a Morningstar subsidiary that specializes in environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) evaluations. Its ranking collects over 450 sets of data to evaluate 70 different variables. ACCIONA's performance was assessed on its integral approach to managing and mitigating ESG-related risks.

Sustainalytics' index has been one of the main references for international investors for over 25 years. It offers detailed information on a number of companies that represent over 80% of stock market capitalization.

In addition, ACCIONA has also consolidated its presence on another index - the FTSE4Good created by the London Stock Exchange. ACCIONA has featured on this index every year since 2011. FTSE4Good assesses companies on their environmental activity, human rights, impact on the community, market behavior, human resources and corporate governance.

FTSE4Good recognizes ACCIONA's efforts to mitigate global warming through the design and construction of sustainable and resilient infrastructure, including renewable energy plants. FTSE4Good also highlights the company's contribution to a fair and just energy transition thanks to the impact of its clean energy investments on social development and human rights.
