ACS Group has been awarded, through Dragados, its first contract in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, with a budget of CAD 1,155 million (EUR 797 million). The project consists of the construction of a large concrete structure for an oil platform, consisting of a tower with a total height of 145 m and a diameter at the base of 122 m. This structure will require 76,000 m3 of concrete and will be carried out in a specifically constructed dry dock. Once finished and anchored in the sea, it will serve as a platform for the installation of a module that will allow drilling and oil extraction 350 km from the coast. This contract is part of the West White Rose Extension project and will be run for Husky Oil Operations Limited. It has been achieved through a consortium in which Dragados participates with 40%, SNC-Lavalin with another 40%, and Pennecon with the remaining 20%. The award is in addition to those of the previous three months awarded to Dragados in Canada: Phase 1 Extension of the Ottawa Light Rail, EUR 93 million; Phase 2 of the Ottawa Light Rail, EUR 354 million and an underground parking for the Metro Montreal, 96 million euros, reaching a combined amount of EUR 1,340 million with a 38% share.
