The Australian Property Institute revealed the winners of the 2021 Excellence in Property Awards today, virtually due to COVID-19.

Acumentis is delighted that Annette Smith was announced as the winner of The Lesley Bennett Women in Property Award.

The Lesley Bennett Women in Property Award
Winner: Annette Smith

Annette (Netty) has spent her 26 year career in the property valuation industry with a passion to empower and pave the way for women to excel in the industry.

Netty leads the Acumentis team in Emerald and has recently been appointed as State Director, Regional Operations, overseeing and managing the operations of the extensive Acumentis Queensland network.

A passionate professional, Netty is driven by making a valuable contribution to the property industry and her community. She is entrenched in the local business community holding positions on various boards and associations throughout her career and spearheading projects that make positive impact.

Recognition from her community includes receiving the Department of Natural Resources and Mines Achievement Award for her significant contribution to the Asset Valuation Project.

Another significant project initiated by Annette was the My Tracks program in which she received $10,000 funding to work on a solution to eradicate Parthenium (introduced noxious weed) plaguing rural properties.

In addition to her extensive work and community commitments, Netty continues to mentor the next generation of female regional property valuers through a partnership she has maintained over the past 15 years with the Department of Resources.

Internally Netty has initiated programs that foster and promote flexibility as she prioritises her fulfilling work career whilst raising her family.

Finalist Categories

Young Property Professional of the Year Award
Finalist: Kate Bingham

Kate is Associate Director Valuations at Acumentis and has been an extemporary property professional for the past 13 years. At only 32 years of age Kate's property industry journey is one of excellence, ethics and dedication.

Commencing her property valuation career on 2008 Kate has extensive experience in providing valuations for residential, commercial, and industrial properties

Kate is a committed active participant in the property community holding positions on the State Administrative Tribunal (SAT), Board of Valuers (WA) and involvement in the Property Councils 500 Women in Property cohort.

Kate has been involved with API Young Property Professionals initiatives since 2010. She is a current member of the WA State Committee and continues supporting the API as a leader in the industry.

Achieving finalist status in the Workplace Diversity & Culture Award is testament to the commitment Acumentis places on our progressive workplace culture.
