ADC (NASDAQ: ADCT) (www.adc.com) today announced that Allina Hospitals & Clinics, a not-for-profit network of hospitals, clinics and other health care services, providing care throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin, is deploying ADC InterReach Fusion® distributed antenna systems (DAS) to deliver strong and consistent mobile broadband data and voice services in its hospitals. ADC systems are already deployed in Allina's company headquarters in Minneapolis and at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, and other facilities within the Allina footprint are slated for deployments as well.

?We needed to provide consistent coverage for our doctors and staff, especially since the doctors are beginning to use new mobile healthcare applications,? said Dwight Heairet, network specialist lead for Allina. ?We started with our company headquarters and have now rolled out the systems in our first hospital, with more to come as budget permits.?

The ADC InterReach Fusion systems deployed by Allina support all four major US wireless service providers. Because they are easy to deploy, the company's own IT staff has installed the DAS solutions on its own. ?They are very easy to deploy and you just turn them on and they work,? said Heairet.

The ADC systems have brought uniform wireless service throughout Allina headquarters, and have so far enabled mobile device use in Abbott Hospital's basement and lower floors. Because of the InterReach Fusion's fiber backbone and flexible architecture, the system can easily be expanded to cover the entire hospital as budget permits. Allina's network includes 11 hospitals and 58 clinics throughout the area.

?Healthcare facilities are usually earthquake-proof buildings with dense interior designs, which makes them particularly challenging for reliable wireless service, but the rising use of mobile healthcare applications makes it essential for service to be provided,? said John Spindler, vice president of product management at ADC's Network Solutions business unit. ?ADC's DAS solutions are preferred by many major hospitals because they are easy to deploy and they deliver high-quality, uniform service throughout the interior space.?
