FRISCO, Texas (AP) _ Addus HomeCare Corp. (ADUS) on Monday reported first-quarter earnings of $8.9 million.

On a per-share basis, the Frisco, Texas-based company said it had profit of 55 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 74 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 71 cents per share.

The provider of home-based personal care, nursing and rehabilitative therapy services posted revenue of $205.3 million in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $208.6 million.

Addus HomeCare shares have declined 10% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $105.07, an increase of 31% in the last 12 months.
