Advanced Petrochemical Company announced earnings results for second quarter and six months ended June 2016. For the quarter, the company's net profit declined by 23.5% year on year to SAR 186 million, due to lower polypropylene prices. Operational profit was down 24.3% to SAR 192 million. For the first six months of the year, the company reported net profit of SAR 332 million, largely flat from the same period in 2015, with operational profit slipping 5.1% to SAR 336 million. The decrease in net profit is mainly attributable to decrease in polypropylene market prices despite lower feedstock costs.
