Pope Francis concluded His 35th Apostolic Journey in Cyprus and Greece on Monday morning December 6 and following a farewell ceremony in Athens International Airport embarked on AEGEAN dedicate flight to Rome with an A321neo.

AEGEAN was honored and blessed to have been the preferred air carrier for His Holiness historic three day journey from Cyprus to Greece, then within Greece to Mytilene and back, as well as carrying Pope Francis and His Holiness delegation back to Rome.

The selection of AEGEAN to execute the Pope's apostolic journey is a major recognition and act of trust and courtesy for both the airline and Greece, as it was the first time AEGEAN was entrusted with the implementation of His Holiness travels. This choice of the Vatican is a great honor for AEGEAN as it acknowledges the excellence, the quality of services and commitment to offer its passengers the best travel experience. The implementation of the apostolic journey was performed with a dedicated state of the art and environmentally friendly Airbus A321neo aircraft and an English, Italian, and Spanish speaking cabin crew.

Mr. Dimitris Gerogiannis, AEGEAN's CEO, commented, "it has been a great honor for us to offer our Greek hospitality to His Holiness, Pope Francis and we hope we have contributed even by some small measure to his mission to Greece and Cyprus".
