SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (AP) _ AeroVironment Inc. (AVAV) on Tuesday reported fiscal third-quarter net income of $211,000, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Simi Valley, California-based company said it had profit of 1 cent per share. Earnings, adjusted for costs related to mergers and acquisitions and amortization costs, came to 14 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 1 cent per share.

The maker of unmanned aircrafts posted revenue of $78.8 million in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $76.1 million.

AeroVironment expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.74 to $1.94 per share, with revenue in the range of $400 million to $410 million.

AeroVironment shares have climbed 22% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $106.37, an increase of 90% in the last 12 months.
