Rangemaster's Leamington Spa factory makes its millionth range cooker - a golden Nexus 90.

Midlands-based manufacturer has been manufacturing from its Leamington Spa factory since 1830.

£8m invested over past 5 years.

Rangemaster's factory in Leamington Spa is where the cooker was invented in 1830 and yesterday the millionth of its modern ranges left the production line.

And to see it happen, an audience of local dignatories, customers, suppliers, employeesand former employees gathered at the production line at Rangemaster's factory in Clarence Street, Leamington Spa.

Rangemaster is part of Britian's industrial heritage of innovation and design and has been manufacturing cookers at its Leamington Spa factory for over 185 years. Recent years have seen major investment in the factory and product, creating a new state-of the-art design and production centre, re-affirming its market leading position and commitment to British manufacturing and support for the local economy. Employment in the factory today is 11% higher than 5 years ago.

William McGrath, Chief Executive of the AGA Rangemaster Group commented: "Rangemaster cookers are built from experience. Experience gained since the first Kitchener was made here in 1830 by Sidney Flavel in the Eagle foundry - the same place that a new modern generation of range cookers were introduced in 1995. Rangemaster's modern range cooker immediately captured the public imagination and has become the nation's favourite range cooker brand. On the 4th of March, our millionth range cooker was proudly manufactured here in Leamington Spa, from where modern cooking began in 1830.  Thanks a million - to our customers, our suppliers and our manufacturing team."

Wednesday 4th March also saw the opening of Rangemaster's new training academy and showroom where the sales teams of Rangemaster's customer will come to gain product knowledge and experience Rangemaster cooking. It showcases the brand's product breadth.  From the modern style of the Nexus to the continental design of the Elise, Rangemaster's product range has grown over the years with new designs, sizes, fuel options and colours to cater for changing consumer needs.

Cookers made on 4th March 2015 have a golden ticket placed within them so that when the cooker finds its home, the family will have the chance to win a wide range of prizes including factory tours, extended warranty and Rangemaster cookware.
