The AIA NZ Peak Performance summit was held in Auckland last week, with a strong focus on health and wellbeing to support advisers to perform at their best.

In line with AIA NZ's flagship AIA Vitality program, the one-day conference was dedicated to inspiring and encouraging more than 130 advisers to look after their health and wellbeing, so they can be the best they can be for their team, their business, their clients - and most importantly - for themselves.

'The last year has been challenging for us all so it's really important that we all continue to prioritise our health and wellbeing. This is something the team here at AIA NZ are really passionate about - our purpose is to help New Zealanders live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives. We are leaders in our industry, and we want to lead this important conversation with our advisers and the wider market,' says Sam Tremethick, AIA NZ Chief Partnership Insurance Officer.

Held at the Park Hyatt in the Wynyard Quarter, the at-capacity event offered an outstanding line up of international and local guest speakers, laddering up to the overall theme of AIA Vitality's four wellbeing pillars: Think Well, Eat Well, Move Well and Plan Well.

'Our opening guest shared some thought-provoking insights into what drives high performance, and the importance of being in the moment. Attendees also gained a better understanding of anxiety, the world's fastest growing mental health issue, and how something as simple as breathing correctly can make a huge difference in times of stress.

'We also heard from Claire Turnbull, our AIA Vitality partner from Mission Nutrition, who provided inspirational ideas on eating well, and the value of forward planning when it comes to the food we use to fuel our bodies.'

The afternoon sessions focused on planning and moving well, highlighting how fitness truly is medicine for the body and that having structure in your planning can help you thrive.

'The event wrapped up with an incredibly powerful presentation from Ngahihi o te ra Bidois, who, using ancient wisdom from Maori culture, demonstrated the importance of words and taking small steps to become a leader of influence.'

Feedback from the conference has been overwhelmingly positive. 'It was an outstanding Summit which we are confident has set our advisers up well for the coming year, and will support their ongoing development,' says Sam.

The fact that an event of this size was even possible wasn't lost on the AIA NZ team either. 'It really was a privilege to have been able to host our advisers, with so many other nations not as lucky as we are to be able to meet in this way, in a place as beautiful as this, to celebrate another successful year of business'.
