#spreadyourwings is a series of interviews with our talented interns who chose Ailleron as a place to develop their professional career. Today we want to introduce you to Daniel, who joined the Corporate Banking team for an internship. What are his impressions, what did he learn, and what did he like best? Read on!

What did you do during your internship at Ailleron? What were your duties?

During my internship at Ailleron, I was a Java Backend Developer. I dealt with the maintenance and development of complex banking applications that could support hundreds of thousands of users a day. I also participated in SCRUM meetings, which allowed for fluent communication and cooperation with my team.

What did you learn during your internship?

Above all, the internship taught me that the programmer's job is not limited to writing code. Communication is also important, as it is a critical factor for influencing team goal relationships. If someone wants to become a good programmer, then, in the case of being self-taught at home or at university, he may have a problem with these skills. Luckily, my team at Ailleron worked with SCRUM which was a big plus for me. When it comes to technical skills, I had the opportunity to work with the latest technologies in microservice architecture. If someone wants to grow with Java and the Spring Boot framework, Ailleron will be a good place to start.

What made you join our internship?

Practical experience is critical in the IT industry. As a computer science student, I decided that the knowledge I had acquired during my studies was worth verifying in practice, which is why I applied for an internship at Ailleron for the summer period. The application was prompted by a description of what the company deals with and what technologies it uses in the development of its applications, which was in line with modern trends in the industry. The development of IT technology is so quick that I realized that what I learned in college is only the tip of the iceberg, and you should learn something new all the time. In Ailleron I had a chance to develop, and I was up-to-date with the latest IT news. Additionally, the internship was paid and fully remote.

How did you like the atmosphere and working in Ailleron in general?

The working atmosphere was very positive. As is the case in SCRUM, deadlines can be a bit stressful, and as an intern, I often stood still without a solution. Fortunately, I had experienced programmers in my team, and they never refused to help me (on the contrary, they often suggested asking more questions).

Would you recommend an internship in our company? Why?

The internship at Ailleron is highly recommendable. If someone wants to gain valuable practical knowledge, Ailleron is one of the best places to start. From the perspective of a person who has not worked in IT before, I can assure you that these intense 3 months will allow you to build a strong and stable foundation of knowledge related to IT.
