Air China Ltd.'s net loss widened in the third quarter, largely due to sporadic outbreaks of Covid-19, rising fuel prices and exchange rate fluctuations.

The Beijing-based airline's loss in the period fell to 3.54 billion yuan ($552.6 million), it said in a stock-exchange filing late Friday. In the same quarter a year ago, the company had posted a loss of CNY670.7 million.

Revenue rose 5.2% to CNY19.79 billion, it said.

For the first nine months of the year, the company's net loss widened 2.1% to CNY10.32 billion, while revenue rose almost 19% to CNY57.46 billion.
