Air France-KLM said Wednesday that it isn't planning on investing in ITA Airways' capital as part of a potential deal to privatize the Italian flag carrier.

"Air France-KLM Group could consider in the medium term to take a minority stake in ITA," it added.

The Italian Finance Ministry said earlier on Wednesday that a joint bid by the Franco-Dutch airline, Delta Air Lines Inc. and investor Certares Management LLC would enter exclusive talks to take control of ITA, the successor to Alitalia.

Air France-KLM said both itself and Delta are commercial partners in the consortium, while Certares--which leads the consortium--is an equity partner.
