The aviation sector is the worst performer in Europe on Friday after Israel carried out a major attack on Iran.

The Stoxx 600 Travel sub-index fell 2.4 percent, its biggest drop since the end of April.

Wizz Air fell the most, down 4.8 percent, while Air France-KLM, Lufthansa, IAG, and Ryanair all fell between 3 and 4 percent. Travel giant Tui is also down significantly, falling 2.4 percent.

Airport operators such as Flughafen Zürich, Aena, and ADP are also down 1-2 percent.

The winners are energy companies and shipping giants, including A.P. Möller-Maersk, Hapag-Lloyd, and Frontline, which are advancing between 4.4 and 6.6 percent.
