WELLINGTON, New Zealand--New Zealand's government said quarantine-free travel would resume with some Australian states from July 5 following an easing of concerns about Covid-19 outbreaks.

The government on Tuesday also lowered its pandemic alert for the New Zealand capital, Wellington, to the lowest level, after there appeared to be no community spread of Covid-19 from an Australian tourist who tested positive.

Travel would resume with Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory, but remain halted for New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.

Shares of travel companies such as Air New Zealand Ltd. and Auckland International Airport were flat to slighter higher after the announcement.
