KUALA LUMPUR, - AirAsia Academy, RedBeat Capital's education arm under Capital A Berhad, has announced it is partnering with MyDIGITAL Corporation to accelerate digital literacy among students and to reskill professionals to contribute to the nation's growing digital economy and the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (4IR).

An exchange of documents between Aireen Omar, President (Ventures) Capital A Berhad and Fabian Bigar, Chief Executive Officer of MyDIGITAL Corporation, was witnessed by Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Economy) at AirAsia Academy on Tuesday. The agreement outlines the collaborative efforts between the two parties in supporting and achieving the national outcomes targeted under the Malaysia Digital Economy Blueprint (MDEB) and the 4IR Policy.

The Academy will also provide highly accessible and affordable courses which cover both technical and non-technical areas of business that are available online while enabling access to Capital A's entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Aireen Omar, President (Ventures) Capital A said, 'We are proud to collaborate with MyDIGITAL Corporation to accelerate our vision of helping transform and upskill Malaysians with the assets we have. We have been proud to witness a great transformation in the Allstars (AirAsia staff) who had gone through the different upskilling programmes when we first started, from a baggage handler who turned into a data scientist and a customer service agent into a digital marketer. So far, over 5,000 individuals have acquired digital talents through AirAsia Academy, including 150 unemployed university graduates who learned data, software and digital marketing skills, and we're thrilled to be able to offer our programs for the whole nation to benefit from.' Highlighting the importance of bridging the digital divide for the nation, CEO of MyDIGITAL Corporation Fabian Bigar said, 'We are excited to partner with AirAsia Academy to support initiatives under the Digital Talent cluster, in particular, to encourage Malaysian talents, including women and girls, to develop their skills to be innovators of technology solutions and not just users of technology. With the flexibility to learn at your own pace, time and location, more talents shall benefit from the initiative.'

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Economy) Dato' Sri Mustapa Mohamed said, 'The Government encourages public-private partnerships such as this to provide opportunities for all Malaysians, regardless of gender, age, race or locality, to learn about 4IR technologies. This will improve their employability, career advancement prospects as well as enhancing their capability to use, develop, design and innovate 4IR technology solutions. AirAsia Academy has done a wonderful job in reskilling AirAsia employees with the modernised tools required in this digital world. It is imperative to continue reskilling and upskilling our workforce with the knowledge needed to adopt 4IR technologies.'

In conjunction with today's visit, AirAsia Academy is also offering special On-Demand Upskilling Courses for only RM28 per month (retailing at RM69) for six months to the first 100 students. Among the upskilling courses are The Mind of a Hacker, Big Data Challenges in Industry and Dashboarding with Data Studio.
