Managing Director of Sustainability
Amelia DeLuca is the Managing Director of Sustainability at Delta Air Lines. She is responsible for overseeing the long-term sustainability strategy, managing Delta's sustainability investments, building an industry- leading team and partnering with Government Affairs and Legal as the airline swiftly drives positive change in an ever changing regulatory and policy environment.
During her 15-year career with Delta, she has held various positions within Global Sales, Revenue Management and Network Planning and has been based in Mexico City, Minneapolis, Amsterdam, New York City and Atlanta. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and has her M.B.A. from the University of Amsterdam.
Andrew joined T&E in 2014 having previously worked for the Green European Foundation and at the European Commission's transport directorate. Andrew is Irish, with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and law and a bachelor of law from the National University of Ireland, Galway. Since 2021, he is a member of Ireland's Climate Change Advisory Council.
Andrew leads T&E's work on sustainable aviation, which includes pricing mechanisms, new fuels and finally addressing aviation's substantial non-CO2 climate effects. He speaks English and French. Outside of work he enjoys classic cocktails, reading, and cooking for friends.
Senior Vice President for Corporate Responsibility
Annette is the Senior Vice President for Corporate Responsibility at Lufthansa Group and driving the holistic transformation of Lufthansa Group towards the future of climate-neutral flying. In the disciplines of "avoid - reduce - compensate" the current focus of the sustainability strategy until 2030 lies very much on carbon, contrails, waste and noise management. In addition to political and regulatory issues, current focal points include the expansion of intermodality, the market ramp-up
of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) as well as the development of sustainable product offerings for customers.
Annette holds an Executive MBA from Kellogg School of Management and WHU and has been with Lufthansa Group since 2003 in various commercial and strategic leadership positions.
Head of UAM Strategy Execution & Partnerships
Balkiz Sarihan joined Airbus' leadership team of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) to focus on the industry, business, and service ecosystem of urban mobility through strategic partnerships. Sarihan combines elements from a diverse career in Programs, Operational, Business, and Strategic roles in both North America and Europe, with the ability to translate vision into a shared path of execution. With a customer- centric focus, she is a believer in business with a purpose, a creator connections, and a constant collaborator.
Sarihan is a proven business builder with previous successes in setting up and leading green field ventures from concept to delivery including classic and digital platform businesses. Previously, she worked in Business Development, Strategy and Commercial for Vector Aerospace in Canada for close to eight years before joining Airbus Helicopters in 2015.
Sarihan holds a MBA from Simon Fraser University following her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia, Canada.
President and CEO
Barry Biffle serves as president and chief executive officer of Frontier Airlines. Biffle has more than twenty years of aviation industry experience and has held numerous airline senior executive and management roles with specific experience in turn-around situations and development of ultra-low cost carriers.
For the past ten years, Biffle has focused on pioneering the ULCC model's development in North and South America. He most recently
served as chief executive officer of VivaColombia, the first ULCC in South America.
Prior to that he served as executive vice president of Spirit Airlines where he played a key role in the financial turn-around and development of the company. He also held several management positions with US Airways and AMR Corp. where he began his airline career. Biffle holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama.
