Airbus SE said Thursday that it has won a 10-year framework agreement for the construction and upgrade of part of the ground segment of the telecommunications satellites used by the French Armed Forces.

As part of the contract, the European plane maker has received an initial order worth more than 100 million euros ($120.7 million) from the French Directorate General of Armaments. This will cover the development of the future satellite-communications management system for the Ministry of Defense.
