Axtel announces prepayment of bank loan for 4,350 million pesos

San Pedro Garza Garcia, N.L., Mexico; December 21, 2018 - ALFA, S.A.B. de C.V. (ALFA), announced today that its subsidiary Axtel, S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV: AXTELCPO) ('Axtel' or the 'Company'), a Mexican Information and Communication Technology (ICT) company, announced today the partial prepayment of a bank loan for 4,350 million pesos with resources from the divestment of its fiber mass market business announced on December 17 of this year. The balance of this loan was reduced 73%, from 5,920 million pesos to 1,570 million pesos.

'The prepayment of the bank loan helps reduce the leverage ratio and financial expenses of the Company,' said Adrián de los Santos, CFO of Axtel. 'We will continue working and searching for other alternatives to further improve Axtel's capital structure.'
