Alfa de CV : Sigma acquires Peruvian packaged meats company

Monterrey, Mexico, June 28, 2017.-Sigma Alimentos, S.A. de C.V. ('Sigma'), a company dedicated to the production, marketing and distribution of refrigerated foods, announced today it has acquired Sociedad Suizo Peruana de Embutidos, S.A. ('SUPEMSA'), a Peruvian company engaged in the production and marketing of cold meats and dairy products.
SUPEMSA, is a leading company in the production of high quality cold meats, it has more than 25 years of successful experience in the business, through recognized local brands such as Otto Kunz and La Segoviana, which serve different market segments. The company operates a cold meats plant in the city of Chancay, and employs more than 800 people. In 2016, it reported revenues of U.S. $54.2 million.
This acquisition is aligned with Sigma´s growth strategy by strengthening its position in Peru in the categories in which it currently participates.
